Calling All Cameras To Capture West End Avenue Commercial Traffic

A few years ago, WEPS launched a campaign to curb the commercial traffic on West End Avenue. We devised a proposal to prevent southbound traffic entering West End from Broadway at 107th St and we were working on the northbound commercial traffic.
This campaign was superseded by the redesign of West End Avenue by NYC DOT. Everyone was hopeful this would ameliorate the problem and we received few complaints afterwards.

Recently, the problem of commercial traffic has resurfaced, perhaps as other main roadways were redesigned.

WEPS central has been contacted by the West Side Spirit for a proposed article on whether commercial traffic has increased on West End Ave. Our staff can’t be everywhere but our members can so we’re asking for your help.

We are asking for current photos. If you see a commercial vehicle on West End Ave that should not be there, please take a picture of it and send it to Josette (with the date, time and location) through the end of March.

If you don’t find this is a problem any longer or you don’t see commercial vehicles on the Avenue, let us know that as well.
The more information we can relay, the more complete the picture.
